2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS Leaked–Photos

Mercedes-Benz’s full-size SUV, the GL-Class, is about to undergo a mid-cycle update. In the process, the vehicle will be rebadged a GLS in line with Mercedes’ new naming strategy. We now have our first look at a completely undisguised version.

The updates planned for the interior, are a redesigned dash, new trim materials and an updated infotainment system are all expected.

Mercedes only updated the GL’s powertrain lineup for 2015, so for the GLS, which we’re expecting as a 2017 model, powertrains should carry over mostly unchanged.

A GLS350 BlueTEC should stick with a turbocharged V-6 diesel good for 240 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. A GLS450 will likely have a turbo V-6 with 362 hp and 369 lb-ft, and a GLS550 will likely have a turbo V-8 with 429 hp and 516 lb-ft.

At the top of the range will be a GLS63 from Mercedes-AMG with a turbo V-8 good for about 550 hp and 560 lb-ft. 4Matic all-wheel drive will remain standard across the range.

A world debut should take place November 18 at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.
